Snacking is usually everyone’s downfall when it comes to trying to keep fit and healthy. And it doesn’t help that as you go to checkout at the grocery store the counter is lined with every chocolate imaginable. But stay strong and worry no more, here is a list of the best snacks with their calories to keep you going throughout the day.
One apple- approx 95 calories
Apples are great because you can eat them on the go, they don’t make a mess and they are delicious. If you are constantly on the road or always up and down at work- the apple is the best snack for you to keep around.
Almonds- 20 almonds approx 140 calories
Another great snack to walk around with, if you’re on you’re your way to an important meeting and want to nibble on something on your way there to stop you from starving during the meeting then grab some nuts. Easy to carry, easy to eat and delicious- you cant go wrong with a hand full of almonds.
Popcprn- 1oz is approx 106 calories
Pop corn is great for a staff room get together, the only problem is that the smell is infectious so you will have everyone coming out the woodwork to ‘just have some’ of your snack. No worries- when it comes to popcorn there is usually plenty to go around. And it keeps everyone low calorie full for the day.
Dry Corn Flakes- 100g approx 378 calories
These are great because you get a nice crunch, no smell and you can sit at your desk while munching on this enjoyable easy to eat snack.
One Banana- approx 105 calories
Another easy to eat snack- best for sitting at your desk because travelling and having to deal with the peeled skin may get annoying. But low calorie, filled with energy and filling to eat, the banana is the perfect snack.
Non Fat Greek Yogurt- approx 100 calories
This is perfect to wind down the day, after you’ve had your lunch and just want something quick before you head to the gym or home after work. Non-fat Greek yogurt will keep you going towards the end of your long day at work.
20 grapes- is approx 40 calories
Much like the nuts, grapes are another great travel snack, although you have to be careful not to squash them. Grapes are delicious, nutritious and low calorie.
Oatmeal- 100g approx 68 calories
If you have a job where you can spare a couple minutes to prepare your snack- having some oatmeal is great. Keeps you full throughout the day, low calorie and great even for a meal replacement.
5 Eclipse crackers and Tuna- approx 230 calories
Definitely one for the staff room, you don’t want to smell up the whole office space with tuna. But nonetheless a great snack to keep you going during the day.
