Why is Protein Important
Protein is not just a nice word body builders throw around to sound smart. It is essentially the building blocks of the body, bones, muscles, skin and blood; it also helps to build and repair tissues. So after a good workout, having a protein based meal is important to help with the development of your muscles.
Protein doesn’t just help to build your muscle, your hair and nails are also made up of mostly proteins, so to help grow long and strong hair and nails you need to make sure you are having sufficient amounts of protein.
Guidelines state that adult men need about 56 grams and adult women need about 46 grams of protein a day.
